More than 14 months after a government inquiry made a series of recommendations about regional branch closures, the only action has been a publicity stunt by the Australian Banking Association.
Small businesses face massive trek when Bendigo closes last branch on Tasmania’s West Coast
Bendigo Bank is closing the last branch in West Coast Tasmania. CEO Richard Fennell says: “To preserve what makes our bank unique, we must balance our physical network presence with the need to continue investing in the changing preferences of our 2.7 million customers”.

More than 14 months after a government inquiry made a series of recommendations about regional branch closures, the only action has been a publicity stunt by the Australian Banking Association.
