After three long years, delays, overruns and a $1.7 billion spend, Victorians are finally a step closer to “testing” their credit and debit cards on public transport – but it’s going to a be a slow rollout.

Almost 10 years after Sydney, Victoria’s Minister for Public and Active Transport Gabrielle Williams says new trials will “test the technology in real-world conditions and make sure the system works smoothly”.

After three long years, delays, overruns and a $1.7 billion spend, Victorians are finally a step closer to “testing” their credit and debit cards on public transport – but it’s going to a be a slow rollout.
